Robotic Surgery :-

Prof. Arvind Kumar is the Pioneer in Robotic and Chest Surgery who has numerous firsts to his credits in this field in India/ Asia.

  • FIRST ROBOTIC THYMECTOMY in India using da Vinci Robotic Surgical System for Myasthenia Gravis at AIIMS, New Delhi in June, 2008.
  • FIRST ROBOTIC THYMECTOMY in India using da Vinci Robotic Surgical System for Thymoma at AIIMS, New Delhi in July, 2008.
  • FIRST ROBOTIC VASCULAR SURGERY in Asia for Athe sclerotic aortic obstruction , at SGRH, New Delhi in April, 2012
  • FIRST ROBOTIC ESOPHAGECTOMY in North India for esophageal(food-pipe) cancer at SGRH, New Delhi in May, 2012
  • FIRST ROBOTIC THYROIDECTOMY i.e. scarlesss surgery for the removal of Thyroid gland, in North India for Goiter at SGRH, New Delhi in May, 2013
  • ROBOTIC LOBECTOMY for Lung cancer at SGRH, New Delhi in June, 2012
  • ROBOTIC EXCISION OF POSTERIOR MEDIASTINUM TUMOUR

Chest Surgery :-
  • Prof. Kumar has been performing Chest surgery for various diseases for over two decades at the AIIMS, New Delhi by Open, Key-hole (VATS) as well as Robotic methods.
  • In his first 6 months at SGRH, over 200 such procedures have already been performed with excellent results.
  • In first 18 months at SGRH, over 500 procedures have been performed with excellent outcomes and better cosmesis.
General Surgery :-
  • As a Consultant, in surgery at AIIMS since 1988, Prof. Arvind Kumar had performed entire range of General Surgery from Thyroid, Breast, Adernal to entire range of abdominal surgery.
Noticeable Surgery Performed

A 21-Year old boy had an accident and suffered complete Tracheal Transection with facial, clavicle and bilateral multiple rib fractures.
