  • Prof. (Dr). Arvind Kumar honoured with "Fakhr-e-Hind" (Pride of Nation) award in an International event "Jashn-e-Bharat" organised by Indian Heritage and Health Care Centre and Husanara Trust on 27th January 2019 at India International Centre, Delhi.
  • Elected as President - 2019 for The Association of Surgeons of India. The Association of Surgeons of India was established in 1938 for the purpose of sharing experiences and enhancing surgical skills among the Indian Surgeons. ASI has a strong membership base counting 20,000 + membership and is increasing.
  • Dr. Arvind was conferred the highly prestigious Col. Pandalai Oration 2023 during ASICON 2023 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
  • In 2019, Dr. Arvind was honoured with the ASI–Betadine Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the Association of Surgeons of India.
  • Dr. Arvind was invited to deliver the Dr. Urmila and Anil Sen Memorial Oration on “The Chest Tube – How to Avoid Complications” at Medical College, Kolkata in 2019.
  • Dr. Arvind was conferred the Award of Honour and delivered the prestigious Presidential Oration in 2019.
  • Dr. Arvind Kumar Honored with the Prestigious Excellence Award in Chest Surgery and Social Work by Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur in November 2019.
  • Dr. Arvind Kumar Honored with the Distinguished Sushruta Trust Oration at the XXXIII Annual Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India, Odisha Chapter (OSASICON 2018).
  • In 2017, Dr. Arvind delivered the eminent “Dr. P.K. Sen Memorial Oration” at Jaipur, reinforcing his leadership through the visionary address Making Surgery Safer: An ASI Initiative.
  • Awarded the most prestigious "Dr. B.C. Roy Award" by the Government of India in the category "Eminent Medical Person of the year 2014.
  • Dr. Arvind Kumar received the prestigious Life Membership Award from the Association of Surgeons of India.
  • Dr. Arvind was conferred the distinguished Eminent Faculty Award by the Association of National Board Accredited Institutions (North Zone).
  • In 2013, Dr. Arvind delivered the esteemed “Dr. Das Mohapatra Oration” on “Surgery for Chest Diseases in India – Past, Present & Future” at Ahmedabad.
  • In 2010, Dr. Arvind delivered the eminent “Dr. N. Mohan Das Memorial Oration,” affirming his pioneering role in Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery at Kochi.
  • In 2006, he was again awarded the WHO Fellowship and underwent training in Management of Chest Trauma at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney (Australia).
  • In 2006, he was awarded "Raj Nanda Fellowship" by the Raj Nanda Pulmonary Disease Research Trust in association with the British Thoracic Society for training in Thoracoscopic Surgery in UK for 6 months period.
  • In 1997, he was awarded the prestigious ICRETT (Cancer) Fellowship by International Union against Cancer (UICC- Geneva) and got trained in Minimal Access and Advanced Chest Surgical Proceduresunder Prof. Robert J. Ginsberg, Chief of Thoracic Service, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York, USA
  • Awarded "Khandelwal junior Oncology award for Scientific Excellence" for the paper entitled "Esophageal Carcinoma - How much to resect _ Is it a Non Issue" at the Fifth biennial conference of the Indian Society of Oncology at Chennai, India. (1992).
  • Nominated for "Sir Hiralal Gold medal" for being the "Best Postgraduate of the Year" in the Deptt, of Surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi. (1984).
  • warded "Dr. V. Ramalingaswamy prize" for being the "Best undergraduate of the year" in the Department of Community Medicine at AIIMS, New Delhi (1980).
