Robotic Thoracic Workshop at SGRH
We are delighted to inform that under the leadership of Dr. Arvind Kumar, Chairman, Centre for Chest Surgery & Lung Transplantation at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, first-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art workshop on VATS was organized on 10th & 11th May, 2014. This intensive, focussed national workshop consisted of lectures, Wet-lab and LIVE transmission of advance VATS procedures.

The delegates in this workshop were Cardiothoracic & General Surgeons from Mizoram, Indore, Ahmedabad, Tirupati, Bangalore, Delhi, Guwahati, Cochin and Rajkot.

This international operative workshop was held under the amazing craftsmanship of visiting faculty from USA, Prof Robert J. Cerfolio, the Institute of Robotic Surgery & Center for Chest Surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital created another milestone by performing 6 advance Chest surgeries over two day's workshop on 11th & 12th February, 2014."

  • In 1995 and 1998, "Hands on workshops" on "suturing and knotting skills" in Minimally invasive surgery, at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
  • Chest Update 2001: Joint conference of Chest Physicians and Chest Surgeons, was organized at AIIMS, New Delhi.
  • SURGICON 2004: Delhi State Chapter of The Association of Surgeons of India, was organized at AIIMS campus in November 2004
  • AMASICON 2005: This international workshop, the biggest teaching activity of its kind till date was a benchmark and a turning point in the development of Minimal Access surgery in our country.

  • AMASI Skills Course 2006: Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India. For the first time in the country, a 3 day didactic programme covering all topics related to Minimal Access surgery (from its history to its future) was conducted. This course also created a benchmark for such activities.
  • CME on "Essentials of Chest Surgery for General Surgeons" 2008: Organized on behalf of ASICON Surgical Research and Education Foundation, ASI, Delhi State Chapter at AIIMS, New Delhi.
  • ASICON 2010: The 70th Annual conference of the Associations of Surgeons of India, was organized in a specially created "ASICON City" in All India Institute of Medical Sciences campus. It was attended by over 8000 delegates and had over 300 stalls depicting state-of-the-art medical technology. This conference also created
